MacBook Pro 2013 Refresh with Haswell Processor Could Include 17

It remains quite likely that we'll be seeing the MacBook Pro notebook line get refreshed in a few months from now, and Haswell processors may be a key part of the refresh. This may not result in a significant uptick in performance, but that's not what Haswell processors are mainly about anyway - if the 2013 MacBook Pro update does include these chipsets under the hood, we can expect all-day battery life on the late-year refresh. But could the refresh possibly include the return of the 17-inch MacBook Pro as an option?

That's what has been speculated by international news site Stabley Times, as the site believes that Apple might try to "reinvigorate [sic] interest in the MacBook Pro" by reviving the 17-inch option. Last year, when Apple introduced the MacBook Pro with Retina Display, it had decided that the 17-inch MacBook Pro was superfluous, lower sales figures and lower pixel resolution and all. But that might not mean Apple is done with the 17-inch display on its line of MacBook Pro laptops, as Apple "has since shown the ability to do a retina display [sic] at any screen size it wants." Be reminded that this is all speculation at this point, but it might not be a bad idea to give consumers an additional choice of screen size when Apple refreshes the MacBook Pro line.

Apart from the possibility of a Haswell processor under the hood and an October launch date, there isn't much else known about the MacBook Pro refresh. A thinner and lighter design could be a possibility, same with the introduction of technology or features found on the recently-refreshed Mac Pro desktop line.
