Just a few days after Apple acquired transit and directions service Hopstop, the company's Windows Phone application has gone missing.
Hopstop for Windows Phone was available to users last week, but the application is no longer offered to Windows Phone users. In fact, a listing on the Windows Phone marketplace says that "this app is no longer published." No explanation has been given.
Still, it's not a leap to believe that Apple might have something to do with it. T he company confirmed late last week that it has acquired Hopstop for an undisclosed sum. In many cases, Apple pulls down applications from other stores and determines how it wants to integrate those programs into its own suite of applications. It could be doing the same with Hopstop.
However, Hopstop is still available for Android, so either Apple has decided to play nice with that platform or has that next on its hitlist.
CNET has contacted Apple for comment. We will update this story when we have more information.
