After complaints from some customers for the last month, Apple has formally acknowledged that some new MacBook Air models have problems with consistent Wi-Fi connectivity. The company issued a software update to fix the issue on Thursday.
The update is now available on Apple's support site. There also reported issues with screen flickering and audio volume levels; Apple says the same update should fix all three:
This update fixes an issue that in rare instances may cause an intermittent loss in wireless connectivity, an issue with Adobe Photoshop which may cause occasional screen flickering, and an issue which may cause audio volume to fluctuate during video playback.
The latest MacBook Air models were launched at WWDC last month. They went on sale the same day and complaints about trouble staying connected to Wi-Fi cropped up almost immediately.
